There are so many coffeewares, glassware in coffee market, how to finish a good hand pour over coffee?

Today, we give advice to newbies, and there are a few things you must keep in mind:

First, don’t change the coffeewares often.

I know that everyone will be very happy when they first start playing with hand brewing, and they will buy a lot of various appliances, including grinders, filter glassware, hand brewing pots, and also buy a variety of different brands and so on. However, I think it’s important to suggest that you get a few things in place first when you’re starting out with brewing coffee.

  1. We can take a grinder first and change its grinding fineness.
  2. Glass coffee filter. Use a fixed glass coffee filter to get used to its flow rate and size.
  3. Pour over the pot. Get used to the weight of the pot, as well as the flow rate, feel, and pouring feeling during operation, etc.

Second, every time when you fill in water, the coffee pot is fixed to 70% full, and after each practice, add another 70% full of water, repeat the operation several times, the weight of the pot and the inclination of pouring water feel you will slowly get used to it. Once you get used to it, it will become very handy to operate.

Third, no matter what kind of beans you use, the ratio of the amount of flour and water you brew each time should be fixed first. Wait until you get used to it, then adjust.

Forth, practice water injection by pour-over coffeeware.

  • Prepare the digital coffee scale, pour 70% of water into the pot, reset the weight of the electronic scale to zero and press the timer, try to see if there is a way to fill the water smoothly, fill it to 150ml in 30 seconds, and repeat continuously. Practice this first, control the flow of water, try not to intermittently.
  • Increase the difficulty of contact, and inject 40ml in 10 seconds. Because there is very little chance that a finer or smaller amount of water will be required.

If you are familiar with these two items, theoretically you have a good control of your pot.

When you are familiar with the above points, our fine-tuning factor will become very small, you only need to adjust the thickness of the powder, or the size and direction of the circle when hand washing. Adjusting only one factor at a time, not at the same time, will result in a lower error rate.
